I have an older brand installed before the Wolfbox was available. I have my rear mounted on the roof rack, the field of vision is huge and it's amazing not looking through the cab. Just wide open views.

I have been considering the Wolfbox as mine is getting real bright at night with vehicles head lights. I'm curious if the Wolfbox is similar.

I think they are all a little bright at night, because they are a backlit display instead of just reflecting, possibly dimming, what's behind you. Even when there is no one behind you and it's completely dark out there is still some light just like with a powered on TV black screen.

I personally found the G900 Pro rear camera to be too washed out, even in the daytime, and with the updated firmware it felt too zoomed in for me.

I am running a Pelsee P12 Pro Max now, which is basically the G900 but with a Starvis front sensor and voice control, etc. I like that the Pelsee mirrors offer more settings options than Wolfbox. For instance mine has a g-sensor parking mode as well as a time-lapse mode (which is the only parking mode Wolfbox offers). It also has all sorts of safety features (blind spot monitor, lane change assist, can show distance of vehicles in front/behind you) that I don't really use in addition to the features of the Wolfbox mirrors.

There are more options for the extra icons from the mirror. Mine only shows recording time and the voice control menu. Pelsee also has several cheaper models, the first one I tried (P12 Plus) was only $100, and I actually thought the quality of the 1080P rear camera was better than the G900 Pro. Resolution was lower, but the colors weren't washed out.

I also highly recommend the metal bracket from Aliexpress, I got this one a little cheaper than the one posted earlier even though it's the same bracket. I did have to order a different metal bracket to fit the P12 Pro Max even though the other Pelsee models have the same mounting pattern as Wolfbox. The plastic bracket they include seems a little cheap, although supposedly Pelsee is going to start offering the metal plates.

Is it a T15 Torx for the rearview mirror mount?

Where are you guys mounting the rear view camera. I saw that WOLFBOX sells a license plate bracket, but I wasn’t sure if that would be too low of a mounting location for a good image. I was also thinking of mounting it on the underside of my RTT, but thats not as clean and also will have to be removed to remove the tent. It would be cool if there was a way to put it inside of the tailgate handle adjacent to the back up camera, but I have not seen anything like that yet.

I’ve had mine 6 days and only managed to mount the mirror and hard wire it so far. The rear cam is temporarily wedged behind the back center headrest for now, but I’d like to mount it higher near the headliner for better visibility. The tailgate seems kinda low to me since this unit is replacing the rearview mirror which has a much better sight vantage, and forget about the license plate mount. It’s a terrible spot for a rear cam unless we’re talking about being ran solely as a backup cam. Having a topper, bed rack or cab roof rack gives so many better options for mounting.

I’d also love to run it above or below the 3rd brake light but the practicality of mounting and running the wire into the cab while keeping water tight just isn’t there. Unless it gets ran down to the underside of the truck and through a grommet but that wouldn’t be ideal and would look terrible. Too bad the rear cam isn’t Bluetooth. That would solve one of the outside mounting hindrances.

Probably just going to stick it to the back window if I can figure out the mount. I ran the wire to the back seat just like this video. I ordered the Dongar pro, but later realized that won't work with my 2017. It's currently running off the cigarette plug until I have time to hardwire it.

As far as the red wire that's supposed to be connected to the reverse circuit for the rear camera...I have no clue where to connect that. Probably going to leave it disconnected. :notsure:

Biggest complaint so far is the mirror is too big to leave the visors down.

You're going to have to do something custom for that. I toyed around with the idea of under my RTT too and then said F it and put it on the top. If my rack and tent come off, that camera does have a quick disconnect plug. So you could either run it without the rear cam until the tent goes back on or you could get a second rear cam, mount that where ever, and use it til you do put the tent back on. You can grab those off the 'zon for $40. I like the higher view point of mine though. Plus you can scroll vertically in the software to fine tune the camera angle.

    Here's mine:

Did you end up using the Wolfbox mount or did you order the metal Anshiling one from Amazon?

Dongar claims 2019-2023 on the 3rd gens. However, I see there's a review with someone that has a 2017. They claim the wire is too short to mount the dongar to the windshield. It must work then. I haven't tried it.

I think I'm going to get some double sided velcro tape tomorrow for the top of the rear seat. One piece for the rear seat, one piece on the bottom of the camera.

The included interior mount doesn't leave a lot of choices without fabricating some type of custom bracket. :notsure:
