I need some advice. I recently busted one of my rear shocks on my 21 trd pro. Have been trying to find replacements, but very hard to find. What would an equivalent be or would it be worth it to just upgrade the whole set? Also, not looking to break the bank. Thanks!

    How busted?
Have you talked to Fox to see if it can be saved or rebuilt?

“Upgrading” a 2.5 inch internal bypass shock with resi’s….and not breaking the bank are not synonymous.

Where are you located? I can lend you a shock to get you by until you figure it out.

How did you bust it, how busted is it and maybe post a picture of it? Maybe FOX can repair it. Welcome to TW.

Either of these would be a slight upgrade: As others said, the TRD Pro Fox shocks are rebuildable, but may not be economically worthwhile. You can call Fox and find out.

If you'll provide more details, so can we.

Answering concerns when full details are not provided is not useful for you, because everyone guesses

I’m surprised that the stock trd pro shocks are “hard to find”. Where have you looked?

I’m also curious how the shock broke. Is there a good story?

Nit pick: a suspension consists of much more than shock absorber, so saying “Fox suspension” is misleading/incorrect.

Well your explanation is pretty vague. It's like saying there is a foul odor coming from inside the truck and leaving it at that only to find out 20 pages later that you farted.

Some pics or better explanation would be helpful. Thank you.

As stated above, contacting Fox would be a good idea. That shock I'd imagine should have a part # on it as well where you could get specs on it or find a replacement easier maybe. Otherwise yeah you'll have to replace both of them on the rear. Bilstein makes good stuff that doesn't break the bank, they also offer remote reservoirs. Probably not going to perform as well as the Fox's but if you DD your rig and offroad sometimes then you don't really need a super capable shock.

How about fox 2.0's for a replacement? :mudding:

If the OP has the stock TRD Pro shocks (branded and likely made by Fox), which I admit he has not clarified, would it not be better to contact a Toyota parts dealer?
