Had the first rain after dealer install and the bed has a fairly large puddle in it.

looking at the cover, the only gap i see is at the back where the cover meets the tailgate.

Looking at the front where the cover meets the cab, it seems it was installed too far forward.

Does anyone have experience or suggestions before i take it back?

Looking underneath the cover, i see two clamps on each side closest to the cab. Each secured with two bolts-4 total. I assume this is as easy as loosening each a sliding the cover towards the tailgate?

Not sure how far you have to go to take it back, BUT you paid a lot of money for professional install, PLUS, if you touch it or modify it, they may not warranty it……justsayin

Keep in mind they are not made to be 100% waterproof, no cover is.. but that is a lot of water. Seems like its pushed way to far forward at install.

I expect some water to get thru. But like you said the amount in the bed is significant especially when you consider we had a light rain with leas than 1/3”

You can pull the tubes so they drain into the bed. That will still allow them and any other moisture to drain out the existing drain holes. I did that to mine and just tucked the end of hose under the bed mat.

Thanks for the reply and idea. Does your cover overhang in the front as much as mine in the third pic? I am still thinking it was mounted too far forward.

Forward is good because when it’s flipped up it stays close to back window. Also gives the most room when in that position.

Don’t be surprised when it leaks again.

According to the instructions that is too far forward. You can easily adjust backwards by loosening the 4 nuts and sliding it to the rear then tighten nuts. You may need to remove the cotter pins to do so.

I installed this cover myself and I carefully read all the instructions. It looks like this one was installed without care.

    Couple things to consider:

    1) Most importantly, that cover looks too far forward.

    IMG_3008.jpg

    IMG_3009.jpg

    2) Those tubes could be pushed down further, but that’s not the cause of the leak.

    IMG_3010.jpg

    3) If you could, take a pic of the side rail where the rubber seal sits on the bed cap. I’d be interested to see if they aligned it like I did. There’s a small lip on the hard plastic that could cause the rubber seal to be raised. Either way, the channel should’ve directed the water to the drain tubes.

Mine has been very dry through a couple of hard rains. I’d take it up with the dealer if it leaks.

On the subject of water. Is it just me or does the drain hole placement in these trucks make no sense? I think we have 3 holes in the bed. The hoses end up covering 2. This won't allow sitting water like the OP has to drain. Can new holes be drilled?

I thought this initially as well. It's like the tubes should run straight down through new holes.
