Suspension is not one of my strong suits so I need some advice. wanting to lift my 2022 taco about 1-1/2 to 2 inches (front).
If I understand previous threads, I can get that lift with a set of Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks, WITHOUT additional spacers or coil springs....etc...
    Is this correct?

Correct. Bilstein 5100 coilovers have a number of possible heights, but they normally need adjusted off the vehicle. The best bet is to have them set at the right height before install.

Here's an image showing how it works. Please note, i am not sure if this is for 2nd or 3rd gen, so the lift height shown in the document could be for one or the other.

Unless you’re putting a winch or heavyweight bumper up front, they work well with the stock coils also.

You’re going to want to lift the back a little bit also. Don’t use blocks, nor the OEM shocks- they will be too short. Use 5100’s and I recommend just getting a single add a leaf like an Deaver one and leave the overload leaf in when you install it.
