I'm getting a clinking sound every time I hit the brakes. Here are the conditions:
    1) car is moving above 10 mph
    2) the steering wheel is turned to the right or the left, even slightly. If the wheel is dead center, I won't hear the clinking/clunking sound when hitting the brakes. The clinking (not a click) happens when the brake pedal is pressed about halfway down, so halfway through braking. Anyone know what this might be? One shop told me I needed new lower and upper control arms, so I thought maybe it was the bushings or the ball joint. Another shop told me that my control arms were fine but that maybe it was the driver's side CV. When I wiggle the driver's side CV, it does make a clinking/clunking sound. Any input would be helpful. Thanks!

Any suggestions on how to diagnose the sound? Should I jack up the front and spin the wheels? Take the tires off and spin the hubs? Sit in the truck while it's jacked up, have someone else spin the wheels and hit the brakes?
