Factory remote start question

Hi,

I purchased a 2020 Tacoma a few months back and it didn't list remote start although it does appear to remote start via the 3 button sequence. Are we suppose to have remote start or is this something that comes with the app subscription and they just didn't disable it after? I was about to register the app to my name but I don't want to lose remote start and I certainly don't want to pay a monthly fee for it.

I'd keep using it as you describe and not register it.

I bought my TRD Sport new in 2021 and had the app for a year before I declined paying for it...still works for me.

As for advertising, it's not part of the description I was given.

I agree with TacoTime55. The managers of the "extra features" seem slow to recognize that one has dropped a feature ... until you register it using the phone app, then shutdown.
