Truck runs hot after rebuild

    Hi everyone, my name is Sam, and I have a 04 taco v6 2nd, in the last year I have done the heads, radiator, water pump, timing belt, thermostat, all new gaskets and hoses all throughout, I have no leaks of any kind, no signs of liquid mixture anywhere, it don’t,mis,it don’t smoke and it does not blow out the cap, but it shows that it’s running hot, if I keep my heater on, it does not run hot!!! Any help wood be appreciated

    Heater core fan blower helps it cool? Have you checked the radiator fan clutch for proper operation?

    Multiple threads make it hard for people to help you, not sure what was covered in your other posts. Could be a bubble? do you have hot air blowing out? Could be a bubble trapped in the system.

    That little kit makes purging air from the system super simple :)


    Do you have access to an OBD tool that can look at live data? Is the truck 100% running hot or is the needle on your dash not accurate? How "hot" is it?

    Another simple thing to check before getting into the weeds is your radiator cap, you can rent a tool from autozone that put pressure on the cap and checks it. I had really bizare temp readings on my little hyundai elantra, it ended up being my cap. I was very excited that was all it was :)

    Are you running a Toyota thermostat with the jiggle valve in the bottom (6 o'clock) position? This will make a difference.
