Hi everybody, I've got an 18 TRDOR with an early RCI rear bumper on it. It has some serious rusting issues going on. I bought it used in 19 or 20 from a guy that traded his taco in for a 4R and the dealer wanted it back to OEM. I've read that @RCI-Offroad had some issues with their powder coat on the early stuff but has been fixed now. I like the RCI but the hidden hitch is occasionally a nuisance. Not a deal breaker though.
Any opinions on durability, maintaining rear lighting, using OEM hitch and capable of occasional recovery are welcome. The Body Armor one looks nice at the price point but not sure if it's shackle mounts are mall crawler or actually good to recover with. Not wanting to go full high clearance. Would like to stay under 1k.
    Thanks

If you like the function of what you have, check out having it stripped and refinished.

If there are features you'd like to add or delete (like holes for lights and such) this is the time a fabricator could do so.

It could be repowdered, painted or a bedliner type product.

Monstaliner as a DIY project would be 'my' choice of finish for such a piece.

I've considered this but the rust is about 1/16 already. It really went wild this summer. Not sure how much that's under the old PC. Not sure how much I'd wrap up in labor and materials. Don't want to exceed the cost of new, in case they miss some Also I live in a college town so no fab shops, at least that I'm aware of, near me.

Even if strength is equal, it has other qualities that make it a better choice in my book.

Look at their gallery. Not that some folks made things 'pretty', but they sure seem durable.
