New truck

I'm buying a new to me truck. It's a 2000 tacoma 2 wheel drive, 2.7 automatic. It has 350,000 miles on it. What are some things I should look out for.

Rust….always look for rust.

 

Welcome either you or a mechanic you trust should thoroughly check all belts, hoses, fuses, wires and per @FastEddy59 do the metal-to-body tap test on the entire undercarriage of the truck, especially the frame, given the miles. What service records do you have? How long has it been sitting? Mind you, this list is not exhaustive.

You might get a much faster and more detailed response if you click the Forums tab on the main page and select 1st gen Tacomas from the menu. Just my two cents.
