4x4 is not required unless it's wet for the main road.
Side trails need 4x4. Some side trails have by-pass's for hard sections.
Peacock Flats is there and back

Howzit! Was reading through these forums and I'm loving the fact that off roading exists, or existed, on Hawaii! I'm planning a trip up to Peacock flats thanksgiving weekend, and I wanted to know if anyone had any tips/tricks. My rig is gonna be a 2x4 SR5 1st gen taco, 3" rough country lift with 31s Ko2s..... I know, sounds risky lol. My other rig is a long bed 2014 TRD Sport, so idk if that's better...

You planning on going by yourself or with a group? You can make it with a 2WD but if the roads are slick or it's raining, it is a bit risky in some areas of the trail.
