Love this truck. Little over 3k miles on it so far since mid-Sept purchase. Good number of those miles have been longer trips from here in central KY to Land Between the Lakes to the west, Red River Gorge + DBBB to the east, and MCNP to the south. Got some town miles, but the trucks been dirty, dusty, muddy, wet, and rocked. Unfortunately, got some pinstripes and a few big gouges on the left rear plastic flare from sliding off a rock into a dirt bank. Thankfully, the truck frame caught it (sarcasm)!!!
Have been lurking this website for a bit and have seen mentioned a couple times that Toyota lurks here as well.....I hope so. My complaint is the left side of the iso-dynamic seat on the drivers side (although I think it's applicable to both seats). The outboard edge of the seats on the bottom are wider (~5") Seat1.jpg and more stiff than the inboard side (~3")Seat2.jpg . It's evident that it's due to the seat controlsSeat4.jpg , but it's bothersome. I'm a bigger guy and have had various Toyotas for a long time - they've always been "smaller" but I've always been comfortable in them. Other than my left hamstring area, I'm exceptionally comfortable in this truck. But on longer drives, the edge is more rigid and is irritating. The interior side is thinner and far easier to flex. Can't really move much in this thing, but the little bit I can "slide" or "shift" gets me off center. It's very subtle, but I can feel it (at least I think I can).
Far from a deal breaker for me, but man when that leg starts to ache, I get pretty upset about it. Anyone else dealing with this? Pics won't really show too much of this, but I'll try and attach anyway. Bitching in the hopes Toyota mitigates it in later models and/or comes up with an option for this. Note: I've engaged these seats on multiple trips and have no clue if they've performed their intended purpose for what I've put them through. I knew what I was getting into with the seats.
