    But like title says I wanted to join anyways. Many similar situations, less for me being 1st Gen DC but here I am. So quick question when changing intermediate shift would you remove airbag or disconnecting battery is enough. Not a rust job

    If your just changing the steering shaft there's no need the do either, unhook the battery if you wish but the main thing is that you lock the steering wheel in some fashion to keep it from rotating with the shaft removed.
