I have a 2024 Tacoma TRD Off Road Double Cab.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a hard tonneau cover and rack that will let me carry my caneo? I've looked at a few but everything is $2000 plus.

    Thanks!

Everything I found that was good and had T-Slot rails is pretty expensive. I went with the Retrax ProXR and love it... but I get it, they are expensive. If you look are various forums you can find some vendors that can over some pretty significant deals.

Not a hard tonneau but FYI because I've been happy with getting Fas-Top Traveller which is all in one or any of open bed, tonneau and soft topper. They have a compatible rack system that also adjusts height. The soft topper rolls and folds in and out of the bed under tonneau and it is quick to remove completely. I suggest their web site and YouTube to learn all about it but here's how it looks with a 4th gen when in topper mode.

For roof rack and canoes I want it center mounted so I've made note of the Yakima parts to use the in cab holes with their old school round bars I have, and they have more availability if you go with new modern cross bars.

Here or the dedicated 4th gen forum someone has posted other cab mount towers and rails.

From experience, I've had canoes on racks over the bed but you have a lot hanging back even if an 8 ft bed pickup. Center of cab and center of canoe together is a superior way to carry them.

LouDawglll, you have the best photos of that tonneau cover I've seen. Do you still get to use your inner bed rail or does the tonneau cover them up?

Yes, the OEM side rails are still accessible; however, that comes with an “asterisk”. The OEM rails remain in their factory location and the Bakflip X4TS supplies a bracket for each side of the tonneau that adapts the tonneau’s side rails to the OEM bed rails. When mounting this system, there are three fixed connection points and there is no flexibility with these mounting locations. If you have other accessories (ie bedside molle panels, etc) that also have fixed mounting locations you could have compatibility issues. Individual bed hooks work just fine … As you are installing this tonneau you have to do a little pre-planning with how you intend to utilize the rails and slide in t-slot bolts for this accessories as you are installing the tonneau. I’ll take a few more photos of the rails later this evening for reference.

I've loved my Retrax ProXR and Yakima rack as they've been super versatile together. Wasn't cheap but worth it.

I'll be removing/selling them to go the wedge topper route in January. If you're around SoCal and the retrax cover fits on your 4th, I can give you a solid price for the pair.

Has anyone found an option for a rack that fits with the Toyota Tri-fold cover?

I dont see how that would work unless the rack was built like a big tall box with no angle to it. Those panels are pretty big on the factory trip-fold to be able to flip up with any rack system.

check out the LOMAX stance, I love it. Hard cover that will fold up all the way and is virtually water proof and will hold like 400lbs.

I think I may go with Retrax Pro RX and Elevate rack. First I am waiting on dealer to see if they can cancel the PIO Trifold. Since my truck is either in Mexico port or on a boat heading this way.
