IMG_6071.jpg IMG_6069.jpg IMG_6071.jpg IMG_6071.jpg Question: where do I get the Rivets for the gas door? Amazon sell them? Link?

One of the two welds is broken - which weld secures the hinge on the Gas Door. The solution seems to be to drill the rivets, take off the door, use epoxy to secure the broken weld, then put new Rivets in. see pictures. IMG_6069.jpg

I guess it's a bit too late to suggest you keep that area clean and the hinges lubricated. I think you are looking at a full replacement brother. But then again, what the hell do I know!

That's a nasty door! Too late for the hinge. Buy a new one.

Toothbrush and some wd40 and rivet replacements, worth a try.

I believe others have drilled them out and then use well nuts instead of rivets.

The inside of the cover is largely protected from the elements... What is the deal?

HOW did you get it so dirty??

What does the rest of the truck look like?

it is not too well cared for, maybe remove the cover totally in an effort to self clean that area. I admit mine isn’t perfect but I wipe out the dust every few months. I also clean the screening of the air intake by the windshield. I wonder what engine bay looks like… eeeekk

Pop rivets can replace those other rivets-
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083S9LMLH

I wouldn’t use epoxy for the hinges- it’ll just pull off or crack. For the hinge, tack welding would work but that’s sorta close to the fuel filler and you know…:bananadead:

maybe drill a small hole and use another pop rivet for it- or as mas olas mentioned use a pan headed screw with a washer if necessary.

If you know someone with a TIG welder, they can spot weld it for you.

Look to be the same as the large door handle rivets from a fox mustang. Those should be relatively easy to find.

OP, if the rest of the truck looks like that door your truck is totaled. I would go ahead and start shopping for an another truck. JK, I agree with others just buy a new gas door.

You when the dirtiest gas door contest TW trophy to you….
