The problem its not apples to apples, a built engine needs an oil change before its first dyno. A long time ago I used to assemble v8s.

I've been at Toyota for 13ish years now and I've replaced maybe 5 engines under warranty (tundra 3.4 omitted)

I used to change oil early but have learned with time and with others that it only has one purpose and its to make the owner feel better while lightening their wallet.

I've seen one 5.7 tundra fail before its first oil change but we later learned it was buyers remorse as we caught him bouncing off the limiter 1 week after having the engine replaced. He wanted lemon buy back.

The tolerances are tight on toyotas but basically perfect, people need to decide on their own if they want to do an early change, and its up to them, but I'll always disagree.

Won’t longer oil drain intervals result in better chances of having oil leaks eventually?

Its the same filter since at least 1980 on the Tercel. Which is brilliant from an inventory management perspective.

Your comment reminded me of something a cab driver told me, way back when. He owned his cab and never changed the oil. He 'simply' added a quart when needed and changed the filter something like once a month. He said the rest of the car would die before the engine and he just dorve it to its death, then got a new car. Who knows if thats true but a good story
