    Hello I got a 2004 V6 AT 4x4 Double cab.

I do a lot of reading on here and research. What are my options for swaping in black faced gauges? I have white now stock ones now and i hate them. such an eye sore, especially how the brake and other lights are below on the tach.

Can I take a 98-00 cluster and swap the gauge faces on them? Is there a way to remove the white on my stock gauges?

I thought the brake lights were next to the tailgate :notsure:

Idk if the gauges are interchangeable or the compatability of the connectors of earlier clusters- I know the earliest ones don’t interchange @BartMaster1234

Ok so I found a 98 that matches the truck's specs (at 4x4 etc.) I'm swapping the odometer for correct mileage. While doing this i noticed that the 04 airbag light has a circuit on it that the 98 does not. When i use the 98 cluster the airbag light never lights up. There's an extra pin used thats not in my wiring i think.

Any fixes or ideas? I was pretty sure it was plug-in-play.

If you want to keep that light you can swap pins to an unused lamp.

Are there plug and play black oem clusters I can find for my 2002 tacoma? Maybe there are plug and play 4Runner black clusters? I was hoping to snag a unit out of LKQ junkyards, so a search for particular years and engine/xmsn would be easy.
