Tried making a pie like this last year. Didn’t look anything like this. I might try it again this year.

 

The Grand Prize Showcase Sweepstakes Commitee is on hiatus until a certain someone (me ) starts seeing deer whilst hunting. My mood is somber due to the lack of whitetail sightings and I we have decided that Grand Prize Ticket Holders will be better served when there is a larger smile on the Grand Prize Semi-International House Of Goodies caretaker's face.

The last deer I got was with my 97 Cherokee.

I saw 30 of the damn things just on my way home tonight.

 

Y'all can keep the pies ALL I want are 47 deviled eggs, mashed taters, stuffing, green bean casserole and honey ham. Keep the rest of it.

We're doing thanksgiving lunch BUFFET out this year so round about 6pm I'll be looking around for leftovers I don't have....

Well fellers, here are a few photos of the new project - 2013 Town & Country.



This thing is heavy, about 4600 pounds of leather, power sliding doors, dual heat and air, DVD player and stow & go seats.

 

I dunno, Rusty. Town ‘n Country. Kinda sounds like it can’t make up its mind.

This essentially fell in my lap for $500.

Ain’t America great. Not to get all Pielitical…I left this morning as the clear underdog and now as more votes are counted…I might have chosen a winning piecandidate. Even in the introduction of a third party. The humble sweet potato pie which like pecan wasn’t really a pie of my youth. I love pie over cake. Cherry being my favorite. That being said my dad always insisted on Mincemeat every holiday. it’s the only pie that I find inedible and reprehensible. Worst trouble I ever got in was yelling “What the Hell is this!” at the dinner table after being served a slice. I think the bar of ivory soap with pepper and Tabasco sauce used to wash out my mouth tasted better than that pie. But what did I expect from a man who ate pork and bean with mayo sandwiches.

 

None of us really likes turkey, one kid is a vegetarian, my wife and niece can't eat wheat so we're making a couple of Indian dishes - butter chicken, tofu tikka masala and palak paneer.

 

Buckle your seat belt, this is convoluted:

Mrs Greens brothers next door neighbors sons wife got a newer car and this had been sitting in their driveway.

The local yard would give them $500, he (the neighbor) mentioned it to Mrs Green who told me and here we are.


The power steering leaks pretty bad and it was sluggish to move but did start and pull itself on the trailer.

This doesn't have a conventional dipstick for the transmission however it does have a tube for one with a plastic cap over it embossed with "dealer use only".

You can just see said cap peeking out from under the giant wire harness that it is conveniently located directly under.



You are supposed to use a scan tool to read the temperature along with a stick graduated in millimeters and refer to a chart for the proper level...

Well, I inferred that it should show at least 1/4" when idling cold -- it didn't. Adding 2 quarts of fluid brought the level up and it dropped in gear firmer - score 1 for the good guys.

 

Mrs Green thus far is noncommittal, she would drive the old van if needed but really prefers a smaller car.

At least I didn't get what I got when I brought the XL500 home - "it smells" (of rodent).

These people did some serious eating in this thing, bits-o-drive thru everywhere.

 

We owned a Ford Aerostar AWD when the kids were little. I used to joke if we were ever stranded in a blizzard that there would be enough cheerios floating around in there that we could survive until help came.
