I don’t think I was lucky, I think as I mentioned, allowing them to bake in the sun and the heat actually penetrating the metal is what turns the glue gooey and they just peel off. I think with the heat gun you’re just heating up the sticker. Yes you do heat the bedside some, but not like if you had the truck sitting in the heat majority of the day.
At least that’s my observation and hypothesis……

like I also said, the corners would not budge until they marinated in the sun long enough and then that’s when the magic happened…
periodically, I would go and try to peel the stickers and feel the bedside, nope, not ready yet…

I didn’t just go out there cold turkey and they peeled right off…

It was 75 today and my truck sat in the sun for at least 8 hours before I started. My stickers were just a bitch man , probably has to do with the surface they were applied to regarding variance.

on just the second side I had to heat it so hot it basically melted the sticker to scrape it off . That was faster than the first side but still the hardest sticker I’ve ever dealt with .

also my truck is underground which is way darker than your white truck so I doubt it’s as simple as ambient temps and sunshine , both of which were in abundance today

edit: after heating with the heat gun the side of my bed was so hot you couldn’t touch it anywhere in the vicinity of the sticker . Way hotter than the sun gets it . I was a little worried about bubbling the paint but all is good thankfully

dont think 75 is quite warm...
I did it when it was 80 & was barely warm enough...
felt the side of the truck many times throughout the process & made sure I felt good amount of heat from the metal of the bed before i thought it was ready.
When I couldnt peel it up or start the peel, I just waited longer, untill the sticker started playing nice....
The sticker would not peel off when the bed side was cooler, couldnt even attempt to get it started...
had to spin the truck around & let the side that was sitting in the shade heat-up as it wasnt moving..

Regardless im not arguing with you, just trying to point out, I dont think I did anything special or got lucky.
I truly feel its all about the heat penetrating the metal & breaking down the glue.

    But, ok, I got lucky!

Not trying to argue just noting my experience so that others can take precautions and set expectations for time and hassle.

It’s almost thanksgiving and 90% of Americans aren’t going to be expecting 80+ degrees so if they are planning on relying on the sun it may be best to wait until spring or summer .

    Absolutely, 100%!!!!!
I think the hot sun penetrating the metal is what does it!!!
I got lucky as I had 1 warmish-hot day recently, im in san diego so theyre easier to come-by...

But yes, I thought about that too...
Was thinking I need to get these stickers off asap before the really get stuck on there but I dont see any hot days in the forecast...

Thats why im explaining what I did in my posts like I was talking to a 5 year old...
To avoid guys in the future to struggle with the process...
BAKING IN THE SUN IS KEY!!!

The sun visor stickers are an absolute bitch until your truck is a hot box...
It has to be really warm / hot inside the truck for them to easily come-off.

TRD Bad Sticker.jpg Sticker Off II.jpgWell
I guess they used some kind of Nuclear Warhead Glue on the 2024 Tacoma Sticker. I thought it would be somewhat reasonable to remove, but heck, it was STUCK ON! ouch.
Rolled the dice a bit, watched several videos, and bought the 3M Stripe Wheel. (Id darn assume, Most the videos are removing easier stickers!!!). Glad to say it worked. Paint was not damaged. Most youtube videos hint that stickers/glue are removed in minutes. This took nearly 40 minutes WITH A DRILL to get it off. WOW. Toyota must make some darn good paint. As I cannot believe I didn't damage the finish.
I do not suggest removing the 2024 Tacoma TRD OFF ROAD sticker. But, I did find success. USE CAUTION with this information!!!!!!!!!!

Goo gone and heat gun or sunshine were of limited help.!!

Badging doesn't interest me, leaving all mine on, the TRD offroad decals do look uneven.

You guys need to stop attempting this in cooler weather.......
I can see from the jagged edge, it was forced the entire time..
Not enough heat on the metal panel...
At first mine were also jb welded on, I didnt fuss with it as I can see it was a lost cause. I stopped the second I noticed it was still solidly glued to the panel, hard as rock, not pliable at all...
until the panel was hot from the sun, thats when I was able to peel-up the corner with my finger-nail & it was over from there.

Then thats when they just popped-off.

I didnt get lucky, I just waited...
