    Hi everyone I have a 1997 2.4 Tacoma it’s 2wd I’m planning to tow regular empty trailers weighing 2-2.5k pounds will my automatic transmission and engine be able to handle it?

    regardless, factor in distance of travel and grade.

    Keep it out of overdrive and you won't break anything, but the little guy's gonna struggle

    Tundra Front Calipers & Rotors, Bilstein Shocks, 2DIN Head Unit, JBL Front Speakers, Tweeters in 4Runner Dome Pods, Transmission Oil Cooler, 16” Tacoma OEM Alloy Wheels
    It will struggle up slight grades and keeping up Interstate speeds. Local town traffic should be ok.

    regardless, I’d highly recommend an aux transmission cooler to help dissipate the heat generated in the tranny as a result of the load.

    Double axle will help even out the load and help on trailer hitch weight but that’s more weight if u go double axle but safer, probably should have electric brakes on the trailer
