Hello guys new here! I had a question … i have a 6 inch rough country lift front has adjustable coil overs 4-6 . The rear just has the lift block and the leaf spring along with the shocks that came with the lift originally . I want to bring it down to 4 inches front and back . I called a local shop and they said i need a 3 inch block for the rear to achieve 4 inches in the rear . Do i need to order for inch rear blocks or can i just use the 3 inch rear blocks i orderd ?thank you for the replys !

Don’t know what you’re talking about.

rough country is bad. Blocks are bad.

the 2nd gen Tacoma complies with 2-3” max lift. beyond that causes issues like CV problems, removal of downtravel, etc.

    I have around 2” lift and clear 35’s. I’m guessing you’re not on 35’s.

Hey! I’ve worked with Rough Country lifts before, and for a 4-inch drop in the rear, a 3-inch block might give you a little more than you want. Usually, you'd go for a 2-inch block to hit that 4-inch mark. That said, you can definitely try the 3-inch block you already ordered, but just be prepared that it might end up sitting a bit higher than you’re expecting. It’s worth checking with the shop to see if they can adjust it for you if needed, especially for the best ride quality.

If you put a 2” block in the rear and change to front to 4” you will be nose high in the front. Also need to confirm that the rear isn’t a combo of block and aal.

Rough Country is one DB lift that does seem to sit better at 4" - 5" lift than 6" (better front CV angles, etc.)

If it were me, I'd be looking at lifted leaf springs so as to put the shortest block necessary in there (like 2.5" lift leafs + 1.5" blocks, since there are no actual 4" lift leafs available I'm aware of). Big tall blocks = bad.

Wait so im getting a bunch of different responses i want it to sit evenly at 4 what block do i need because i have a 3 and a 2 inch block now here at home? Ps the truck at six inches did sit like half and inch higher in the front that why i want it to be even front and back…if a two in block is the closest i can work with that i just want to get back down lol

Seems to me this should be real easy; blocks that are 2" shorter than the ones you have now will lower it 2".

    1. Are your rear leaf springs stock?
    2. Is there an add-a-leaf in them?

If you can answer 'Yes' to #1 and 'No' to #2, then whatever height your block is will equal how much lift you will have.
Or *maybe* we can guess your lift if you can tell us exactly what it is you do have.

Short of that, you're kindof on your own, and is just another reason to start over with something new (again, big blocks suck, they cause the rearend of your truck to kick sideways going over bumps, among many other issues).

You were ignored, and that is sad. But, not your truck...nor is it mine. But who listens to logic any more, right?
