While this was my Jeep I use the same method on the Tacoma. 11 minutes start to finish.

Step one: soak with Simple Green cleaner

Step two: Rinse off with garden hose and soak with tire shine

Step three: wipe off excess tire shine with a micro fiber cloth

Excellent! Does it stay clean, i.e. not attract dust? After spraying with Simple Green, do you agitate any of the parts to get the dirt loose?

Stays clean for quite awhile and does not attract much dust. No agitating or scrubbing at all, spray simple green, hose off after a few minutes, blow dry excess water then apply the tire shine

Thanks for the follow up, I appreciate it. What strength Simple Green did you use? Did you dilute it at all? I've read that Simple Green can be somewhat aggressive so I was a little unsure about spraying it on my engine.

I use the concentrated but don’t dilute it. Its only on for a few minutes before it gets thoroughly rinsed iff with clean water

I absolutely hate the smell of Simple Green, what do other cleaners work well for the engine?

I normally use glass cleaners if it's not too dirty, since it's a fairly mild solution.

I have DI water and 900psi, 1500psi and 2700psi pressure washers at work.
