Just installed a set of Michelin LTX M/S in 265 75 R16. Last tires were Continental All Terrain Contacts, which were great, but the Michelins are an unbelievably smooth ride.

what about Michelin LTX in 265 75 16? Go up a size for looks, a little more sidewall and ground clearance, plus maintain a smooth efficient highway ride?

I ran the Continental Terrain Contacts on my Ridgeline and loved them…
I thought they looked way more aggressive than the stock Michelins it came with, gave me way better traction in loose dirt, gravel, and deep snow…
I think they where equal to the Michelins on ice.
There wasn’t any noticeable sound difference.
I was thinking of going with them again on my Tacoma but don’t see it in 275/70/17…

I'm running Fallen wild peak AT3. Not "highway" tires but my truck is on the road 90% of the time, the other 10 is when I'm going fly fishing. They are a great tire for seasonal use without costing to much and don't weigh a lot. Great for starting from a stop in the rain or snow.

I had Toyo open country at2 and they were Terrible in the rain but decent in the snow.

I have the Wildpeaks… I am on the road 99% of the time… but when I hit a MTB limited access road… I’m pretty happy for the A/T’s.

Hate to revive an old thread but since there has been repeated mention of the Michelin Defender LTX M/S, I am curious if anyone has used the Michelin XLT A/S which is supposedly an identical tire specifically marketed for Costco. Reviews between the two tires seem drastically different (noise in particular) so just wondering if anyone has had experience with the XLT A/S.

I will be moving from 265/75/R16 Falken AT3W to 265/70/R17 and the goal is to reduce road noise and increase MPG since I am on the highway most of the time.

Michelin defender LTX. Quiet comfortable ride and 10.5% better mpg for me

and they work suprisingly well off-road when aired down. I run ~14-15 psi off-road. Have 60K miles on them with 7/32" tread depth left. The tires came with 12/32". Work well in the winter also.

Any love for BFG Advantage T/A Sport LTs? Currently shopping and big difference in price ($192 vs $252 for the size I'm looking at) I see at both Sams and Costco, but similar reviews at the usual tire websites and the BFGs are 3 Peak severe snow service rated too.

Substantially more aggressive sidewall design than most other h/t tires. Tread features to improve puncture resistance. Quiet highway ride.

What size? Best prices I got were at Sam's. $1050 for 245/75r16, $1232 for 265/75r16. Quite a jump in price for not much more rubber, and a 15% higher load rating, both of which are higher than stock.

245/75R16. The tire in the photo is from my first set of these great tires.
Bought the second set on October 1’st, this year, at semi-annual Toyota tire sale. Three @ $308 each, with the fourth @ $1. Plus, free tire rotations for the life of the tires.

Sale is conducted in October and April.
