I have a 2009 access cab with the oem head unit in there and the sound is very quiet. I have replaced the speakers but that did not improve the problem. So now I have been looking into replacing my head unit, but I am wondering if it is really worth it. Will it make my music pump louder, or will it just be a little upgrade in technology?

Better sound quality with more customization features, apple car play, equal wattage sent to front and rear speakers for a more balanced sound.

Power will go from 5w to 15w. Nothing crazy by any means, but that’s triple what you’ve got now. Won’t be 3x the volume, but certainly noticeable

plus all the features that come with whatever radio you choose

Go in the doors and add some sound deadening, that will help a little but Get solid Kenwood or top tier radio and then look at a small amp later down the road.
