Fog lights to fit an ARB deluxe bull bar bumper?

I just purchased and installed an ARB deluxe bull bar bumper on my 2010 Tacoma. Great bumper, but they have a bit of a confusing approach to their fog light option, i.e., they ask if you WANT the fog light option, and I responded "yes". But the bumper that they sent comes WITH THE FOG LIGHT CUT-OUTS, and you have to ORDER THE FOGLIGHTS as a separate item.

I can go back and make the order, but I get the feeling that, for the price, $188, these are not "upscale" lights. I believe that the part number is 6821201 from Auto Anything. Anyone out there with a similar set-up/experience? Any advice?

 

188 bucks? Mine were like 60... You needa check around on that. Side note-mine are really bright tho, one cracked.within 2 weeks from the heat of them.

 

I just ordered a ARB fog light option for mine (not on yet) and it was about $70.

 

I appreciate the responses. I did a little more homework, and the "kit" that they seem to try to push you into, for $188, includes the wiring harness and switch hardware. In fact, my truck already has the harness in place, along with the switch. So all that I need are the lights that actually fit ARB's "cut out". And you are CORRECT in that these lights are about $65-70, depending on which auto supply site you look at.

p.s. I DID see some other commentary, from other people in my situation, that states that they feel that ARB's description "deluxe bull bar with fog lights" is misleading. It really makes it sound as if the lights come with the bumper.

 

I'm thinking of getting this same model ARB... will the factory fogs not fit in the spaces provided?

You may want to talk, at greater length and detail, with some of these folks who used their factory lamps/lights in the ARB bumper. I think that you would have some customization/drilling/fabrication to do in order to use the factory lamps that came on your truck.

The ARB bumper is great, trust me on that one. But where the lights go is a plastic/ABS triangular-shaped fitment piece that you can out the pre-punched space for fog lamps, if you so desire. ARB sells a lamp kit, and the manufacturer is IPF (it may be ARB's own "in house" brand), that slides right into the cut out, i.e., "no fuss, no muss." You can get these lamps from a number of suppliers, on line, and the item number that you can "Google" is ARB6821201. I think I paid $65 plus shipping from one of the sources, came out to about $75, for the pair. (Beware, some places want to sell you the entire kit, lamps, wire harness, and in-cab switch, for $188. You don't need the harness or the in-cab switch).

I preferred this over making some sort of adaptation to the holes in order to get the factory lamps to fit in, and stay in place properly.

As one of the original posts, or perhaps it was an "online review", indicated, the plastic piece that ARB supplies is a bit flimsy. It surprised me, actually, given that ARB is famous for the solidity of most of their offerings.

Excellent.... thanks! I probably will go with their lamps. In addition to the quality of ARB, I'm going with them because it's a full bolt-on with no modification needed.

 

The ARB fog lights are far superior to the stock fog lights. The actual lights should be in the 70 dollar range (TRDPARTS4U.com). You are correct the Deluxe bumper with fog light option is about 200 more than the regular bumper without.

 

I just ordered the deluxe ARB. Don't really want to spend the dough for a ARB foglight kit. Is it really that difficult/bad/ghetto of a hack job to reuse the factory fogs?
I really rather use that $$ towards some springs.

I started this string back in April, I think. I ended up ordering the ARB lights that fit in the cut-out. If you had fog lights on your original vehicle, you don't need the $188 kit, just the lamps. I think it came to about $63, including shipping. Takes about 8-10 minutes to install them-your original harness connector will plug right into them. For me, it was worth the savings in the time. I could probably look up where I got them, but many of the on-line vendors carry them. You might have to shop around the SKU number, or model number, to see who has "free shipping", or who is running a "10% off", or "15% off" special on a given month. Just like everything else on the Internet these days, it pays to spend some time shopping. I have used AutoAnything.com and TruckAddons.com, and some others. Hope this helps.

I went ahead and just ordered the ARB lights the other day. The thought of reusing my existing fogs would have been nice since they're HID and saves me some cash, but didn't like the idea of hacking things up. I wonder if I can still use the HIDs on the ARB lights? Hmm. We'll see when it's time to install.
