Been there. Done that, don’t do it anymore.

I just let them “be gone”…

I pinched my right rear out hunting last weekend and lost 2 clips. Flap is about to fall off and is just flapping now. Need to pick up some more uni clips.

Just happy it didn’t shread the entire flap or worse crush the pipe. Can’t tell you how many flaps I have ripped off of this truck and my 92.

My stock pile of takeoffs is down to the bottom of the barrel.

OEM or 3rd party? Popped mine when I first got the truck on a misjudged trail, replaced with Amazon clips and almost all of them just shattered when I went to remove them to make a little room to work under the truck (cold garage; but not THAT cold, maybe 45-50F?). I'd bet aftermarket is made from a cheaper/more brittle material.

OEM clips are used if that is what the online yota parts dealer ships out during the sale week

perhaps water gets inside there in the winter and then freezes and breaks the plastic
    IDK ?!?

Hmm yeah I don't know then, mine was bone dry and not full of grit but they weren't OEM either. Quality slip maybe? Probably not a high priority item..

Do you have oversized tires catching them, maybe? I've completely ripped off one mudflap when I was backing up on a trail.
