So, I'm about to take the plunge into solar, but my budget is... well, let's just say it's tighter than a drum. I've been reading up on DIY solar installation to save some serious cash, and honestly, it's tempting!

But I'm also terrified of messing things up royally. Like, electrocuting myself or setting my roof on fire kind of terrified.

Here's the internal battle raging in my head:

    • DIY could save THOUSANDS on installation costs. That's a huge chunk of change!

    • BUT, I'm not exactly an electrician. My DIY skills peak at assembling IKEA furniture (and sometimes even that's a struggle ).

    • What about permits and inspections? Navigating that bureaucratic maze sounds like a nightmare.
    Help me out, solar community!

What's YOUR take on DIY solar?

    • Anyone successfully gone the DIY route? Share your tips and triumphs!

    • Horror stories? I need to know what could go wrong!

    • Is there a middle ground? Maybe I can DIY some parts and leave the tricky bits to the pros?
Let's talk DIY solar – the good, the bad, and the potentially shocking! ⚡️

Solar power is one of my never-do items. The expense of removing the panels for reroofing is too great. Maybe if there is an alternative, like on the ground--maybe. Even then, the expense of replacing a component due to a failure is too great.
