Won't let me upload the video, but my 2019 2.7 has a serious ticking on startup at times. It's only on the first startup in the mornings, I can get it to go away by revving a bit. It gets worse the colder it gets outside, and the closer I get to needing an oil change. With a fresh oil change it doesnt do it at all. It's not just a mild tick. It is quite loud. Any ideas? Running full synthetic 0w20, 90k miles. Always on time with oil changes(Every 5k)and no other issues. I don't live in super extreme climates. Western Kentucky.

A week ago, I did several things to stop the click clack noise I heard when accelerating from 2nd to 4th gear. I don’t know if this will solve your problem.

    1) Switch to 93 Octane
    2) Consider adding Lucas Octane Boost, Seafoam, Lucas Injection Cleaner, Gumout and / or other additives monthly.

I think I've figured it out. Oil change shop wasn't putting the oil filter on that has the check valve which was cause oil to take a second to circulate. It's currently at the dealer and I'm in the middle of some back and forth with the oil shop on an engine replacement as it needs either a rebuild or new engine at this point. It's looking like I'll get a brand new 2.7 dropped in on the shops dime.

Glad you found the root cause. While nothing is designed to last forever, I’ve often commented in responding to other posts that “Toyotas in general are built to last”. That said, I’m sure there’ll come a day when a rebuild is on my to-do list.

Thank you, happy to be here. I'm pretty sure that's what's going on with it. Even the dealership was shocked about a potential engine replacement at such low mileage.
