I’ve used cayenne pepper sprinkled over a wet engine before but it will be really hard to protect all the wires as there are so many. Besides trapping (good luck with that!) probably the best and only thing you can do is make a mouse resistant paddock to park your truck in each night- a short wooden fence with aluminum flashing around the outside or as a lip sticking outwards from the top? This is what people do to keep porcupines from chewing their tires and other rubber parts…

If you make any kind of fence, be sure to dig deeper for install. People making chicken-mesh garden fences may dig a narrow trench 1 ft or 2 ft deep and embed mesh in the dirt to keep out burrowing/digging critters.

    This and that
a 4” deep parking pool. Perhaps a small fence around each tire.

I’ve been thinking about this one a lot lately. I know someone bat just had their wires chewed through, I left my truck for 2 days and found mice tracks on the engine cover.

I just edited my other post with photos of porcupine chicken wire, you could put something like that.

I have plenty of traps indoors: electronic, snap, 5 gallon pails but I really don't want to put them in or near my vehicles unless I know there are mice there. Like the headliner of my RAV4... I took the overhead light out and secured a trap up there. That's the car I had to get rid of because of the dead animal smell.

Nothing in the traps for several weeks, now.

There is a spray from Tomcat for around a house foundation. I'm thinking that works ( I used it) so maybe a little paddock and spray that stuff :)

Snakes ??? No way !!!! And they don't work in winter, anyway.
