2022 Tacoma with 26600 miles started to click/pop when turning the steering wheel. Upon inspection driver side boot has definitely been leaking going to the dealership on Friday. Had a lift go on at 21,000 miles new tires as well upsize to 285s anybody have this happened to their truck should I be expecting a new rack and pinion?
Power steering fluid reservoir, not low, however PM

I think mine is the cv though.
Wiped a little grease off my drivers side boot.

I am dealing with the same issue, clicking while turning and leaking steering rack at the boots. Dealership said it was my LCAs but recommended dealing with the steering rack first. I did some trouble shooting and I thought it was the steering rack bushings, so I tightened them and the clicking reduced. So I replaced the steering rack, but I still have clicking. I purchased OEM replacement LCAs during a previous 20% off sale at the dealership. Stocking up on a few other parts (UCAs, wheel bearings) before doing the maintenance to reset the front suspension. YMMV.

I found out it was my skid plate. I removed my skid plate to drive around for couple days and no noise! Putting skid plate back on, after a few weeks of driving, noise came back. It has to do with the flex on the chassis. going to try and put some rubber washers in-between the skid and frame mounts now.

I have to admit, I thought you were full of crap on the removing the skid solution for the weird click while turning. Couldn't possibly be the solution to my problem. I went about my business for the past few months dealing with the clicking every day.

Then I got to my next oil change last Wednesday and remembered some dude on the internet claiming that removing the skid solved the problem. I decided what the hell and left it off. Well I'll be damned! The clicking is gone for the past week!

A little overdue, but I really appreciate the tip! So, how have the rubber washers worked out for you?

Here’s a rough photo of the skid plate on the ground when I was doing that maintenance. You can see the washers. Hope this helps!
