So I spent the last couple weeks cruising the US, hit the Appalachian mountain range and the gorge, spent a night in it, [storm was coming in]then cruised over to the Smokies and spent a couple days and nights there cruising all over the back roads and hitting the Dragon and all the dams I could find, then I ran to the Trace Natchez and spent some time and camped out 2 nights. Ran thru Louisiana, hit my old post Ft Polk, then cruised to Houston to see the kiddo, hit the South Pacific WW2 War Museum in Fredricksburg, then rolled to Lockhart and ate at Terry Blacks BBQ, chilled a day or two then headed north to Kansas for a day, then rolled back home. Right around 5000 miles all said and done. Weather was not too bad for late in the fall, few people, and there was still color. I hooned a bit on the dragon,AWD makes up for no HP and cold roads and tires.

The Natchez trace is slow [50 MPH] and it's ''meh'' for actual countryside views but the lack of "NATs'' [no a**hole truckers] makes for a chill driving experience. There are several free camp sites for it's cheap to run.
Wired up an inverter [2k constant, 4K surge] so I had fresh hot coffee as soon as I got up in the AM.
I'll probably do it again next year but about 2 weeks earlier.
