Nice truck but price is high for the mileage. Just my opinion though.

It’s worth what it is to someone, hard truck to find, so if your going to be driving it for a longtime and love the truck then it doesn’t really matter if you over or underpaid for it. Clean truck enjoy it they don’t make them like this anymore.

Nice truck. Hell I would have bought it as soon as I seen the cassette player.

I know it's not a "deal" per se, but it definitely checks all the boxes for me other than the mileage. Although, that's not really high for this truck.

The price is about what I'd expect to pay around here for something that nice. Maybe even a bargain considering simple, reliable, useful small trucks are a thing of the past. Sweet ride!

If that's what u r looking for than do it. As others said the price and mileage is more than preferred.
    Enjoy!

$17k for over 200,000 miles is wild to me.

People are hanging onto older vehicles like these because the new stuff just isnt that good anymore. IMHO, it is a nice truck, the problem I see is with the insurance company, will they provide full coverage at that price.

Yeah, I drive an '03 and asked insurance how much they'd give me if it was totalled out or stolen. They acted like I was trying to pull one over on 'em and said they could not tell me. I have a feeling it would be far less than the replacement cost.

And yeah, most new vehicles are hot garbage. Expensive hot garbage. These trucks hold their value for a reason.

For quite a few years I asked for insurance quotes by specifically stating “I need a quote for the least amount of full coverage required by law” reason being if you simply ask for full coverage and give them a vehicle description with no additional information - you get what you get. Now I only carry Comp and Liability which is really all I need. I was no longer required to get state inspections a few years back - now I just get ‘safety checks’ $13.95 and we’re done

I think you did just fine. I would have bought it. Nice truck and a clone of the '99 model I own.

Thanks for input guys. Makes me feel like my drive to CA to AZ is worth it.. which I'm currently doing now..

I'll just have to do some thorough insurance research.

First gen taco - check, V6 - check, 4x4 - check, 5-speed manual - check, SR5 - check. Given these features, I would just go ahead and ignore the miles and just buy the truck. As for insurance, I bought a collector car insurance policy for my '97 Tacoma after negotiating hard to get the insurance company to provide a $20,000 agreed value policy for my beautiful, 120K miles truck.

I had issues with the boutique insurers, I have a pristine 99 Ram 2500 4X4 diesel tow vehicle and my everyday insurer was reluctant to insure for my declared value, $30k, so I looked at the collector car insurers. They would do the $30k valuation but said I cant tow with it, what???? go figure.

To each his own. I would never pay $16k+ for a 1998 vehicle.
