So I dropped my spare to install a trail pipe and was surprised to see this rim as opposed to a steel rim. Is this a thing, anyone else have this?

    What size is the tire?

265/70/18, same as the four stock tires; it's also a falken wildpeak. I kind of feel like they ran out of steel wheels or something and threw this wheel in there.

Pretty sad when one of the best looking wheels on the 4th gen is the spare.

It looks like one of the Tundra’s wheels.

It's rare to see a steel wheel over 17"

18+ are fooking heavy and massive. Most of the current models need clearance for the bigger brakes and rear parking calipers.

Toyota could have put a steel 17" spare but decided to match it for higher trims.

I believe it's only the alloy wheel with a matched tire on the highest off road trims. I know Trailhunter has that same spare wheel.

Limited Hybrid comes with a 17" black steel running a full size temporary that has a tire OD of 50% of the treadlife on the stock tire.

Can you pull and post the part number on the rim for the benefit of others?

I still can't believe that Toyota just flat-out lies in the spec about their "full size" spare in the lower trims.

They aren't lying. You (and many others) are misinterpreting to your personal bias/preference.

They state "full size", they don't state "matching". My previous Toyota window sticker explicitly said "matching spare", not "full size spare". Could they be more clear and say "full size temporary", yes. But they aren't lying.

My sr5 has a full size Toyo tire on steel rim.
