Well it finally happened. I had a bad feeling all day today and naturally, on my way home, I got side swiped while sitting stopped at a red light by someone who thought they had enough room to squeeze past me into the left turn lane... Note that I was attempting to go straight, I just so happened to be stopped right where my lane splits off giving you the option to either continue going straight or go into the left turn lane.

I've already filed a claim with their insurance and my insurance. My insurance is suggesting I take my truck to a place called Hoods Etc Collision Center but I'm always a bit wary on insurance suggestions.

Looks like it's mostly cosmetic near the wheel well and back left corner of my bumper. Yes yes I know I'm probably overreacting but this is the second time my truck has been hit, but at least this person was kind and stopped. The last time it was a hit and run.

Anyways, any suggestions are welcome. Thanks all!

Edit: I guess it'd help to provide a location. I'm near the Catalina Foothills in Tucson.

Body shop? Just slap on a high clearance bumper!

Or just buff it out and take the payout.

You can check out Tucson auto collision center on wetmore. Never used them but they've been recommended to me.

Side note might be time for a good dash cam I recommended wolfbox

Paintless Dent Repair and a good detailer could probably pull the dent out and clean up most of the scrapes and paint transfer. Those bumper caps can be found for $100 or less online and easily swapped.

I've yet to find a decent auto body shop in AZ.

Airpark Collision in Scottsdale screwed up a car of mine so bad with overspray and shoddy paint work that I sold it. It was there for 3 months and painted 3 times. Each result was worse than the last. They were quick to collect the insurance money and then kicked my car to the curb, while working on others. Whoever did the work had zero experience and no idea what they were doing. Horrible experience.

Ricks Autobody off Raintree in Scottsdale is okay, but I still wouldn't recommend them. They repaired my passenger front fender after some 90 year old dude swiped it. They couldn't match MGM paint if their business depended on it, but eventuality got it to 90-95% of what it should be. The fender/hood alignment still isn't what it should be.

It's really a matter of finding a shop with quality equipment and a painter who takes pride in their work. Most shops are in a rush to get insurance work done fast, because it pays well. Quality isn't necessarily on their mind.

I had some work done at Yota Pros in Tempe and the owner suggested a place nearby, he claimed the guy was the best in the valley but I can't remember the name. I bet if you call down there they'd tell you.

Thanks all! The person who hit me took full responsibility so that bit is settled. I hope they are doing well and are able to get their car fixed, too.

I decided to ask the mechanic who worked on my civic for a recommendation and he gave me a place nearby that seems really great. They are going to have me drop off my vehicle next week and hopefully have it fixed within a week or so. I'll have a rental in the meantime.

I know the damage isn't really significant but this is the first and only vehicle I own that I bought brand new. I'm hoping this doesn't diminish the value should I try to sell it in the future, but I am planning to keep this truck for a good while.

Anyways, I appreciate the advice given. I hope y'all stay safe during the crazy holiday/snowbird season lol.
