A-trac and Diff lock not working

I have a 2022 TRD offroad and when I push either the A-trac button (on-off switch) or Diff lock button (momentary switch) all it does is turn on all the dome lights. I am the second owner and I verified my VIN on toyotas website and the trim is for sure a TRD offroad.

 

That's what you get for buying a TRD OFF... anyways does ATRAC light up above your speedometer? should be next to the outside temperature.

 

Nope neither switch light up anything in the dash. I can see on the dash where the diff-lock is supposed to light up. I removed the overhead console and everything is plugged in and it's all factory wiring nothing spliced.

Yes I am, even if I wasn't, the dome lights coming on make no sense.

 

for sure for sure... I would have suggested tracing back the wires but it sounds like you did that. you can start with the basics and check all of your fuses maybe even relays but besides that I'm at a loss that is very strange. probably have to take it to the dealer unfortunately.

 

Do you know offhand what fuses are for those two switches? Passenger compartment fuse box or engine bay fuse box? I'm 100% positive I tested all functions while test driving so the dome lights coming on has me scratching my head. The truck is under warranty so I'm not too worried about taking it in.

 

not off the top of my head but I would check both. All of your major relays should be under the hood in the compartment just behind the battery.

 

there's a fuse panel below the drivers side in the cab as well.

 

I don't it's fuses because I wouldn't have power to those switches at all, It makes me think there's a short to power somewhere in the harness feeding the overhead console. I may pull the fuse for the dome lamps and see if anything changes.

 

Definitely strange that those gluttons are turning on the dome lights.

 

No evidence of water intrusion anywhere?

If not you may want to check Connector IN1 behind the left A-Pillar.

 

yeah I wouldn't think it's a blown fuse either but it's one of those easy enough to do, process of elimination things. Occam's razor or whatever.

Both connectors are plugged in and no pulled or bent pins. I assume it's these two?

 

Yea IN1 would be the larger grey one.

No evidence of corrosion?

 

Nope both plugs looked perfectly fine.

 

Not that it should matter but the sos button works like it should (solid red light, not active anymore) and the actually done light switch works like it should. And the truck has a factory dashcam that has wiring overhead but is a seperate harness.

 

Well I guess we need to verify the Ground at the overhead console on Pin 12 (White/Black).
