On the way to check out a supercharged 2002 with 200k miles currently, how long can these engines and transmissions last with the additional power the supercharger can add, this particular truck seems to have a couple things going for it, 7th injector system, transmission cooler, some other things as well, I just don’t want to buy the thing and have it blow up in 10k miles, I know nobody knows how this truck was maintained but I’m curious how a well maintained supercharged 3.4 will hold up

Imo in generally around 300k the 3.4l will need headgaskets supercharger or not. Not the end of the world just something to plan for. Other then that they will last forever. I believe someone on here is up to 700k with a supercharged since new tacoma.

I addition to the above, SCs need to be rebuilt about every 80-100k

Engine and trans will take it forever as long as the pinging has been worked out

Checked the truck out a bit ago, felt great, supercharger was rebuilt 10k ago, think I’m going to buy it tomorrow, bringing my mechanic with me to really check it
