Does anyone know the cheapest way to replace all 4 ball joints in a 98 2.7 4x4? Is there some sort of kit that comes with all 4? Or even a complete control arm kit. The only ones I’ve found online just come with the lower

Don't go cheap on ball joints, go OEM if you can especially on the lowers because if they pop out it will cause a loss of control.

Go OEM only on the lowers. Shop around amayama and online Toyota dealer sites to get the best price.

Sorry guys, I should have known by now to include OEM on my post . After everything I’ve read on this website I feel like my truck would spontaneously combust the second it touches pavement if I use anything aftermarket. I just want to know the cheapest way to go about getting new (OEM) uppers and lowers. I’d probably be spending close to 500$ for all the parts if I bought them individually, but does anyone know of some sort of kit that includes everything? Or will I have to buy them all individually

You have to buy them individually. So get the part numbers and plug them in on Ourisman Toyota's website and just add them to your cart (don't order them).

Then go to your local Toyota dealership parts counter and show them your cart and ask that they price match. Most dealers will get really close (within a couple of bucks of Ourisman pricing), and most dealers can have all the parts to you within about 24 hours and you won't pay shipping. This is as cheap as you'll get OEM Toyota parts for our trucks

I bought everything Napa.....except for the upper
these have a grease zert.....so easy to maint

The Oem's are so expensive because they depend on a Teflon cup instead of stabbing with grease every now and then

Using that cup on something as large as lbj may not be a winning combo..

When that teflon cup goes....the whole thing flys apart without any warning
thats reason they're all terrified........does not happen with high aftermarket
    if maintained....

    choose your poison

the napa where about 1/3 price with AAA discount or one of their sales......

Two Tacoma's on my block alone, mine included, have lost passenger front wheels in past....
you can see it in the fender and/or wheel well......and most likely...oem

Napa also sells the jap ones......Sankei 555 Brand

Lowers are the important part. Go OEM there if no where else. The rest is not nearly as vital. There is an argument that OEM is better for everything, but it is not nearly to the same degree as the lbjs. I went moog with my upper ball joints (K90255) and outer tie rods (ES3545, ES3546) and I’m not worried about it at all. But to answer your question, no there’s really not any kits, they need to be pieced together.

LBJs cost can be brought down depending on the dealer you order from, and the part number you order. Usually the TSB kit part number I posted in your other thread is the cheapest option, especially from a low price online dealer like Ourisman Toyota.
Not specific prices but pretty close: TSB Kit is like $190 (for two LBJs), two moog UBJs is $50, too lazy to check the lbj bolt cost but I can’t imagine 8 is much more than $50 and that puts you at $290.

Control arms is whole different conversation to have.

I forgot all about the tsb kit. I’ll definitely check that out! Thanks again, you’ve been such a big help for me

Not necessarily true. But you do run the risk of getting pulled over and issued a citation by the lower ball joint police for using anything but oem lower ball joints.
