Cluster issue?

    Hello everyone new member here and i need y'all guys help with my odometer resetting to 0. Is anyone here can give me an idea on how to fix this? My truck is supposed to be close to 100k miles as of today but the issue just happened while i am driving yesterday going home. i have a 2012 2wd sr5 pre runner.

    That’s a first for me.
    Never seen that happen.
    The only way I know to reset the ODO is hacking the EEPROM on on the cluster board?

    @TnShooter do you think i got a fraud on my cluster? Should i go to toyota dealership with this? I bought my truck used last 4 years ago from a non toyota dealership.

    Something weird going on there, I've never heard of one resetting.
    I've heard of some of the older digital ones that stopped counting over a certain milage but they should never reset to 0, either someone has tampered with it or there's an issue with the EPROM on the board.

    @Dm93 do you think i can take it to toyota for the fix? I have up researching as i think i am the unlucky one who only experienced this

    I think that digit isn’t displaying
    Wonder if it was tampered with and you just rolled to 200k?
    ETA: yeah, leading zeros don’t display, so it hasnt reset, it’s just not displaying that digit

    @545 that's what i am thinking. With those 0s before the numbers with total of 5 digits i guess im still on 99k+ up till now.i did a coolant change and belt change before this thing happened @ 99910

    Good catch, I didn't think of that.

    You would probably have to send it to someone that fixes them or get a replacement and have the milage matched.

    The dealer would just replace it, they aren't gona repair it.
