Got new tires installed at Americas Tire few days ago. They told me my TPMS light was on and asked if i wanted new sensors. My sensors were factory so I assumed it was time to replace. Almost two hours went by and I inquired about my truck. Eventually one of the employees told me they couldn't get get their programming tool to connect to the truck. Walked out into the the shop to watch the worker plug in the programming tool and yup screen said nope, no connection, sorry try again. I was going to ask for a refund but it was getting late, I was the last vehicle there and they were closing. I guess my first question is how can I verify it's my truck or their tool? It sounded like they only had one programmer according to the employee. Employee also said programmer cable was new and it was just used day before successfully etc etc.

I've replaced sensors in 4 different vehicles. I ordered mine from Amazon and took them to the tire store and had them installed when they mounted the tires. All of them were working perfectly when I drove off the lot and at least 3 of them are still working. I sold the other vehicle 8 years ago, but they were working when I sold it.

It's probably not the truck. Either the sensors they sold you aren't compatible, or someone doesn't know what they are doing.
