I have a 3rd gen TRD Tacoma 2022 V6 stick shift with a tow package. I was wanting to open this discussion up to anybody doing aftermarket mods for the electrical system on the Toyota Tacoma. Currently I have a 2500 w inverter that I hook up to the battery to run devices, but the stock alternator can only produce around 500 w of extra electricity before the battery starts dipping to a dangerous level below. 11.8 volts. But consuming 500 w with a space heater off of my inverter. I still have a little bit of headroom to use things like the blower motor for the air and the dome light. I found a really good 290 amp alternator for 500 bucks for my year make and model of Tacoma. It says it produces 290 amps at idle. That should allow me to fully use the 2500 w inverter with lots of headroom. I was wondering what you guys thought on the matter what mod do you guys have done are planning to do and anything you learn from the process. Also, I think the 2 gauge wire running to the battery should be sufficient And I won't need to upgrade the alternator's wiring. I've got zero gauge wire running from the battery to the inverter. Just in case I ever need to jump, start it or for peak output in case there's ever a power surge or I'm using a little extra power I'll probably edit this post with more information as time goes on. Also, I know there's forums dedicated to just the battery in just the alternator and just the stock/aftermarket inverters but since they all work together to accomplish one goal, I figured it might be nice to change mindsets and talk about all of them together instead of as separate components
