    Morning Y'all,

As the title says, my 3rd gen might be totaled. Lady ran a red light and I am glad I have a dash cam. I'm thinking about getting a 4th Gen MT truck.

Do y'all know if the shift knob is the same? I have the TRD Pro shifter in my truck and I'd swap the original in to my old truck if the shift knob is compatible.

I also have the TRD Gloss Gunmetal wheels on 265/70R17 KO3. Would I be able to move these wheels over?

Is the bed mat for the short bed the same?

Lastly, I have a Lomax trifold. On the website, it looks to be the same part number

Thanks so much, I wanted to search for the answers but I am a bit overwhelmed with everything that is happening

Unfortunately, the only thing that will transfer over is the wheels, and you will have to run an adapter with them, as the center hole size is smaller on the Gen 4. The bed mat may, but you will have to modify it to fit.

To clarify, I have a MT 3rd gen and the shifter looks the same on the 4th gen MT. Good to know about the wheels. Such a shame as I really don’t like the 4th gen OR wheels.

Just like with the Long bed mat, it may not look sexy but it might work.

3rd gen wheels can bolt onto 4th gen truck no problem, the problem the other way around, 4th gen wheels bore too small and 3rd gen hub too big needing adaptor.
that being said, the offsets are too different, nobody should be using 3rd gen wheels on 4th gen truck, gonna poke too much

Just be aware that if it's a total and they value the vehicle with those wheels and tires and tonneau cover (shift knob won't matter), You will have to get their permission to remove those items, AND they will reduce the value of your vehicle accordingly. Also, you'd have to replace the wheels/tires with something. You can't take yours off and leave the truck sitting on the ground.

Thanks. Yeah, thats definitely a discussion to have with the insureance. If the wheels and tires are only adding a few hundred bucks, id just buy a set of OEM wheels and tires and swap out as that wheel and tire setup new was close to $2k. And it seems like id at least be able to move the KO3s over as they are only a few months old

I wouldn’t think tonneau and bedmat would matter. They’re worried about replacing the vehicle not your accessories

Similar thing happened to me and it was totaled. The only thing I saved was the locking gas cap but it didn’t work. Kept getting the check gas cap error code. Insurance gave me a $ amount for totaling. Then I asked for credits for all my accessories and they adjusted for those. I also had receipts for new parts I just put on and they added those to the total.

Where are y'all getting info that 3rd gen wheels fit 4th gens? I've read posts a while back stating otherwise.

The bed mat, no. The tonneau would impact the value though. Not much, but it would.

I would be surprised if the shift knob is different third to fourth gen. The knob looks like one that has been used since second gen.

This. If your vehicle is totaled, it's the property of the insurance company. They are not going to let you take anything with you other than things that weren't part of the vehicle- personal items, unless you make other arrangements.

I had a GF that had a vehicle totaled and I just put a new battery and alternator in it a few weeks before. We had no intention of removing them, but a guy from the body shop watched us like a hawk when we removed her shit from the interior of the car.

I saved the TRD shift knob but I haven’t transferred it over. The part number was the same though

Damn. Yeah they didn’t watch me. I took off a bunch of things since I had the factory stuff and the insurance agent told me to take the wheels off as the value they would add to the vehicle was miniscule compared to purchase price and resale. So I bought a set of OEM TRD OR wheels and swapped over

I did leave the tonneau as I can prove I had just bought it in October and hopefully I can get that added

Someone has done it but the offset is pretty aggressive. I’m trying to decide whether I want to do it or not. I did a mockup picture to see if I like the look

You’re going to need a hub ring but I think your current lugs will work with those wheels. The lug socket might be a tight fit. I would do a test fit with one of the front wheels.
