Was at the dealership today getting the oil changed. They found this. I hadn’t noticed anything. This will likely be covered under the extended Toyota Platinum 7/75k warranty, but just in case, is there any way they could blame this on the 5100s set at 1.75”? Would have been $1800. Is there anything I could’ve done that would’ve caused this?https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VeCDcOd6-lluGaYrspPVm1bgqQZhR39V/view?usp=drivesdk

They could blame it on the lift but honestly that happens on tons of stock trucks anyways.

My interpretation of the warranty guide is that would fall under 3y/36k warranty, so unless you have an extended warranty, are you sure you’re covered? If not covered, I would let it ride. Personally I am doing just that already, mine has looked the same for 20k. The rack is too expensive, too much work to change, and too likely to have the same problem again for me to consider not waiting until the last possible moment to replace it. So for now, it continues onward.

Thanks guys. Yes, I have an extended 7/75 platinum warranty. I kind of figured that this might be something that does happen and will not really be an issue. I guess there’s not really anything that could be done to prevent it either?
