@DES2009, thank you as I think I’m on the right track.

Ok, I did find an update for my vehicle. So I downloaded the file onto a USB 3.0 flash drive. That didn’t work as it said in on the head unit the device was not supported. I dug around the house and finally found a 2.0 flash drive. Same result.

The head unit says it has version 1785 and the new version is 1790.

I watched a great vid on YouTube how to update with the flash drive. The main difference from the video to my rig is mine seems to be trying to update over the DCM network…which says there are no new updates. On the vid I watched, you could update via the USB. I don’t have the option to manually force the update.

Affirm. That’s where I grabbed the update file to load onto the USB.

I just took a look at the instructions for doing the update that are on the download link on page 2. The instructions don't say, but oftentimes vehicles seem to like FAT32 or exfat format. I would try FAT32 first on your USB drive, and if unsuccessful try exfat. Or maybe you've already done that?

Edit: I just looked back at the first post in @ktbell444 update thread. He says to use FAT32 or FAT16

I did format the jump drive with FAT32. I think the jump drive may be wonky…so I’m on the hunt for another jump drive. Stay tuned.

I’m trying to not have to use the dealer to complete the update.

If you press the menu button, then tap "set up" on the screen, then tap projection settings you should see this screen. Be sure Apple carplay is set to "On"

That’s probably what he needs. I was looking for that because I could swear there was a CarPlay “on” button and I couldn’t find it. Good work.

This is exactly what I was hoping for when I asked the OP to post a pic of his head unit... for someone having the same unit to show where the settings are on the screen..

I read the post last night and this was running in my head since. I couldn't remember exactly where it was last night to reply but I figured out the steps to get there on lunch break. I now question why I had both AA and CarPlay on when I use a Galaxy S23fe with a Carsifi wireless AA adaptor

Bingo! @Taco_mike73 nailed it. Android was on but CarPlay was off. It now works!!!

I’d still like to update firmware and will update with progress.

    Thanks for the help guys!

More good news. I found a different flash drive formatted in FAT16. I was just able to update the firmware like in the video I posted earlier!
