I have a hunting high idle (hunting in this case meaning that it bounces from 1000 to 1500+). It doesn't always hunt, but the hunting leads me to believe that it is computer/sensor-related. I've been chasing it for 2 weeks.

The truck idled normally when I purchased it. High idling started about 1000-1500 miles after purchase. The only engine maintenance I did before the high idle was an oil change.

It occasionally idles at 1100, but often idles at 1500-1700. If it were a mechanical failure (vacuum leak, sticky throttle blade) it would high idle more consistently (based on my time doing maintenance/repairs)

The only consistency I have found while working on this is that the idle will hunt when I put in the clutch & I am still going 10+mph (It hunts clutch in or clutch out coasting in neutral). Sometimes it hunts when I am at a full stop. Hot or cold. 7000ft altitude or sea level, it high idles.

here is a video of it doing bs.

Here are the things I've tested/replaced:

    New IAC solenoid
    New MAF
    New TPS
    New ETS
    New vacuum lines (all)
    New Thermostat
    New PCV & grommet
    New Spark Plugs
    New Throttle body gasket

I've cleaned the IAC & Throttle body
Unplugged the battery overnight (to reset ECU)
    Visually inspected intake/airway
    Tightened the throttle cable
Ohmed out plug wires (Ohm-ed in spec)
    Unplugged cruise control
Induced a vacuum leak (idled lower when I did this but the engine didn't sound happy)

From my experience it’s just a symptom of your high idle, not ann independent issue. I had that and it went away when I figured out what was causing my high idle. Id focus on figuring out the high idle and not get distracted by the hunting
I’m at a loss, you’ve already replaced every cause of a high idle ive ever seen. Hopefully someone else can chime in on some weird cause they’ve seen.
