The heat sheild around the converter has recently rusted off. I've heard some ppl saying it's important to fix and some ppl telling me not to bother fixing it. Has anyone had this same problem and did you bother to replace the sheild?

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Not directly related to 3rd gen, but the shield on my '06 TRD OR fell off because the connectors corroded away. Never replaced it and did not experience any adverse effects. Since it was underneath the passenger side I would have never realized if the floor got hotter than the driver's side.
