    100% agree.

What ever oil made it go 460k is good stuff.
    Keep using it.

There have been a lot of contentious "best oil" threads on here over the years. Everybody seems to have their favorite. Seems like the most important thing is changing it regularly. As a guy with a 400,000 mile truck, I go with Castrol GTX conventional 5w30 or 10w30, depending on which one happens to be in stock. Seems like the guys who pay for the synthetic stuff have cleaner valve covers without as much burnt residue/discoloration, but not enough to persuade me to switch.

At the end of the day, I say put in fresh oil every 5,000 miles and a new filter and keep on trucking. It's easy and fun maintenance that gives you an excuse to inspect the underside of the truck while you're down there.

X2 on the whatever you want at a 5k interval. OEM filters are good.

    327k miles and counting.

I switched to Mobil 1 high mileage a few oil changes ago and the 4Runner leaks a bit less oil than it did before.

This. I'm a noob with only 275k, but I just make sure to change it with synthetic every 5k. The previous owner did it with dino oil every 3k. Doesn't burn or leak a drop.

Instead of some fancy oil......I would just use anything readily available....

however I'd change it more often, way more often........with pretense that the oil passages have narrowed...

clean fresh oil is best defense for that.

So often you might even skip the filter for 2 or 3 cycles...
makes for a 5 min oil change.

As an engine ages you get less particles shed....
but your oil gets contaminated more and more with 'blow by' as the rings age....so you have oil/gas mix

Plenty of good oil out there. I tend to use high mileage synthetic for the zinc content.
