Apologies as this has likely been asked before. I used the forum search but couldn't find a clear answer.

My current tires are nearing the end of their life. I have been planning a 2" lift and larger tires for some time but things came up during the summer and I wasn't able to do it. I am going to need new tires before I can afford the lift so at the moment my options are,

    1) Buy new tires in the stock size now and buy larger tires post lift.
    2) Run these tires until I get my lift but risk decreased winter performance. I'm in the coastal PNW so snow is a maybe but wet weather is a guarantee.

I am wondering if people have positive experience running skinnies on stock suspension. The truck will be a pavement princess until I do the lift in April or May so I'm not worried about any rub at full compression. I did some measurements and it looks like I will have about .5" clearance at full turn.

255/75 will fit, 255/80 might fit but will be really tight
