Own a ‘22 Taco with Utility Package. The cold early mornings have finally gotten to me. With no remote start, heated seats, or electronic key- I just dread getting on the road each morning. I’m 6’6” 260# and drive 5k miles per month. Went shopping this weekend at the local Winston dealer and found myself in a power seat that actually was comfortable. The dealer had dozens of SR5 but none with the combination of a power seat and remote start. There were a few with Cold Weather package- but none that added the power seat. Why is it so difficult to find one with power seat, remote start, & heated seats? They had a TRD Limited & XP Pro with all that But not looking to spend $55k+ for a little truck. I’ll keep looking. PS- I’ve never seen so many Tacomas on the lot ever. White or Silver SR/SR5 with a few TRDs mixed in.

 

you need to get a trd sport with upgrade package or premium package to get power seats.
no sr5 trim will have power seats.
not sure if off-road offers power seats either, dont think they do.
But others will chime-in on the off-road.
I remember trd Jon whining about no power seats in his off-road...

 

Thanks. The sales folks there didn’t really seem to have a clue. They had SO MANY white SR5 on the lot I think that’s all they wanted to sell. The power seat is a huge difference maker for me after driving one without for a couple years.

 

Find a shorted trd sport, with the "upgrade package" & they will all have power seats.
They start at about $47k but can ge had for $5k off of that, especially now....
If they're not willing to give you $4-$5k off, you move to the next dealer, or wait for them to call you back....
They will call back.....

TRD Off Road with upgrade will give you power seats.
How much do you want to spend? Broker in Philly does $5,000 off MSRP so a $50k TRD OR puts you mid 40’s depending on options.

Once you select a truck, click the tab that says view all vehicle details & from there select package & accessories & that's where you will read the add-ons it has.
all upgrade packages will stick you with a sun-roof...

 

My guess is there's trd sports & trd offroads on the lot with power seats but you were focussed on sr5's.
Here's a pointer.
Looks for the sports & off-roads with the round color matched circles intergrated into the front bumpers...
those are proximity sensors on the upper tier trucks, easier than reading the window sticker...

I'm quite sure all gen 4s have remote start.

I'm an OR guy. To get the electric seats, you need the Premium package. Which also comes with the heated seats.

 

At your height and weight, a Tacoma is almost too small for you.

I would highly recommend the Off-road with the Premium package. You should be able to find deep discounts right now on one.

End of month, end of quarter, and end of year is a great time to buy.

 

If you're primarily concerned with the cold morning thing and want heated seats, you can get those separately. You don't have to pay for the expensive upgrade package with the power seats to get it.

I've got manual, heated seats. It's a pretty uncommon configuration, as I'm to understand it, though.

 

I found several SR5 with what they call the Cold Weather Package- which is manual heated seats. It would be good and certainly an upgrade over what I have now- but that power seat just gets me in position that’s so much more comfortable.

 

Yes- the Tacoma is likely too small, but I’ve made it work this far and the lack of any sort of center console allows me to splay my right leg out. But the power seat is a game changer.

 

I love my heated steering wheel.

 

Just need the upgrade package, for heated seats, 8 way electric driver and passenger seats, and my favorite.. Heated steering wheel.
