Hey there, the intent of my response was to highlight that not only did we offer product support (which the other manufacturer didn't)

But also that our product outlasted the competitor's product. And at half the price. I feel like that might not have been conveyed in my first response.

Moreover, looking at failure mode - the other product separated from its mount entirely - exposing the shocks to bottoming out. Our product was still attached to the vehicle, offering suspension protection, even despite the wear.

The most common response we get is "3D printed parts can't take the abuse" similar to your statement of "Not surprised that's how the 3d printed bumps faired" despite them lasting several times longer than their molded competitor in @unstpible's case. I just want to highlight that to readers here.

The challenge of building a new product, with a new manufacturing process is that as soon as any field failures occur - the default response from many is that it was inherently inferior, and we all should have known better. (despite the existing products also showing issues in the field)

The reality is that with any new product or process - there are growing pains. But listening to and incorporating feedback is a strong suit of our manufacturing technique.

With that said - you're completely right about the side loading on the bump stops on certain vehicle platforms. I 3D scanned and built a rig to have identical contact angles from front suspension on our GX - and have a similar rig in the works for the LC100 and 3G4R which also have high side loading. This will be useful to tailor the product to the sweep of the LCA through articulation.

Awesome! Love the test setup. Data definitely talks
If mine do ever fail or I have reason to replace them, I'd love to give yours a try!

Threw a quick coat of black on the rear bumper and rock sliders to keep it looking fresh and prevent rust where mother nature had aggressively sanded away some of the existing paint during last years trails.
    IMG_20250328_233830.jpg

On rock sliders it's like a right of passage to have scratches so I left the scratches showing on the badge Thomas welded in when he built the sliders. Figured it would take a lot of rust to create issues with a double layer of thick steel and I didn't want to tape off the lettering again either so it's like a win win
    IMG_20250328_233901.jpg

Went much longer than usual between car washes too but it's finally cleaned up again. I also detailed the interior before taking some shots of the new cup holder design from BH3D I'm so glad they worked with me on getting a larger cup holder, they already had though about doing it I just gave them the extra push needed to get it into production. I also have a one off prototype from the R&D process which I think it's pretty cool even if it's almost identical to the final design I still know it's one of a kind.
    IMG_20250403_191602.jpg
    (prototype on the left)

New design went it without having to adjust the mounting hole location at all which made me happy

Cups for days (ok ok bottles for daaaaays).
    1060953.jpg
I also noticed today that the front "Flash light holder" is a perfect fit for doggy doodoo bags

And I'll leave you with some shots of the shop dog since she was behaving so well today. She even let me vacuum out her fur, even seemed to enjoy it so I may have to do that a few more times especially with the transition from winter to summer coat going on.

They did a great job on that cup holder.

Noticed some dark clouds in the sky this afternoon and I decided to head towards them, into the mountains I went to lose my mind and find.. some scat?
    1070133.jpg
But I'm getting ahead of myself a little bit there.

I didn't have a goal other than to be in the trees to enjoy the cool fresh air and let the dog sniff what sniffs could be found.
    1060989.jpg
(some electric car humming on the other end of this closed road stopping for photos snagged her attention)

Someone lost their hood a little further up the road. Pretty sure it was being used as a sled which is all fine and dandy but come on people, take your trash home with you when you're done.
    1070010.jpg

Not far from here I spotted a wild and ferocious poo bear stalking about the woods (her nickname is Poopoo)
    1070077.jpg

After she ran out of sniffs to smell here we nosied on towards Navajo lake. I was curious to see what the Ice looked like which meant dropping back down about 2,000ft from the current 11,000

Navajo Lake definitely looks cold from here
    IMG_20250417_201309.jpg

While taking this photo I noticed a hawk in the sky a little further to the west so I went further west.
    IMG_20250417_193722.jpg
Cloud coverage definitely helps keep the focal point a little easier to track but a few times the camera was beeping at me because it assumed the object was less than 3ft away:rolleyes:

Since I was already headed west I figured I might as well keep pushing my luck but the snow was starting to get a little deeper from the shadows of the mountain slowing the melting process. After a couple fun stretches of snow between sections of pavement I spotted a forest puppy scampering across the field at the far end of the lake just a bit beyond the reach of my lense

    IMG_20250417_221533.jpg
I figured i might as well try and get closer but I didn't get far trying to creep quietly in the truck without moment and speed
    1070129.jpg
(silented thought in the back of my head telling me maybe I shouldn't have been so cheap and activated the Garmin Inreach Mini that's sitting at home still in the box.)
I carry traction boards and multiple shovels for a reason. A quick dig behind all 4 tires and I was able to back up easily enough which just made me double down on the stupidity so I continued forward determined to make it around the next bend but this time invoking some joyous turbo noises for speed and momentum.

    Success, another patch of pavement.
    1070131.jpg
I should have turned around here especially with the threatening clouds still building above and the coyote long gone back into the pines on the other side of the lake, I continued on for maybe another 300 yards before turning around and heading home with continued momentum as to avoid the shovel. Looking at the clock I figured I should be getting home about the same time as my wife and the thought of dinner began to fill my mind.
Just before making It back to Hwy 14 I pulled over, shifted out of 4lo and got out to get water for the dog and let her wonder one last time but she didn't seem interested in the water but definitely found an interesting smell, unsure where it was coming from, nose to the air she wondered back and forth across the road in circles (absolutely zero traffic) before coming to a halt at that fibrous log gleaming in front of the truck, at least she didn't try to eat it. Right after loading back in the truck the clouds let loose the moisture contained within and continued to do so all the way home, transitioning from snow, to hail, back to snow, and then finally rain as the altitude dropped.

Was good to get away from the spring allergies as a nice little added bonus

    1060981.jpg
Neither of us are looking forward to that summer time heat but that's a problem for later

Okay okay NOW @perryparts has truly hooked me up with their latest version of bump stops and I'm already liking these betterIMG_20250422_133627.jpg
3 generations of designs (plus the OEM) in one shot.
The OG design I ran though some pretty rough stuff started to reshape itself due to the angle of the control arm and I'm super happy they've taken that into consideration with this new design
    IMG_20250422_141347.jpg
By matching the angles this will increase the surface area when it makes contact with the frame and should help it last longer and perform better at the same time. Its also something that neither Durobumps or the OEM bumpstops use in their designs and I'm very glad to see it done, that's another win in my book.
    IMG_20250422_155045.jpg
This OG logo also just fits perfectly on the LCA so I'm going to rock it! will probably actually hit it with rocks at some point so hopefully it doesn't get ripped OFF soon

Thanks again Patrick! Hopefully I'll get some good shots of these bad boys in action soon

I'd post up a link on where to order the new design but I don't see it listed on their website just yet so just check back in on that later

Absolutely fellow Dereck. I have been in the market for bump stops and actually bookmarked the older style you had on his site.

I can definitely put them through their paces on the Rubicon this summer :burnrubber:
Curious to compare them to the durobumps I have now

    @betterbuckleup are you on 35's?

I'm not sure what shipping will come out to but shoot me a message with your address and I'll get these out in the next few days.

Use them, abuse them, and give @perryparts your feedback. I'd also love to see them posted up in here or Instagram

How does the size of the tire affect the bump stop? Unless you've gone LT the front coilover is the same. That should define the height of the bump not the tire size.
