    The basics
I recently purchased a Starlink mini and would like to mount it to my roof rack.

I'm stuck at how to power it and coming up a little short on answers. Before I begin though, I should mention I have very basic knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.

I'd like to permanently wire the starlink to my truck. I'd like to be able to turn it on and off if the truck is on or off via a switch in the cab.

I found this 12v converter on Amazon (see pic). Would this be as simple as mounting this in my engine bay, put a button switch on the positive lead and plug it into the mini?

Would a relay be required? I was looking at tacoma specific button switches and saw somewhere a relay might be required.

Any guidance and advice is greatly appreciated

I would definitely recommend running it through a relay and then you switch the relay on and off. And definitely add a fuse inline.

    There's your battery source in-cab.

IN1 is behind the sail panel on Driver's side.
