So I have an awning bracket that I designed to fit my DIY wedge camper and when I upload into sendcutsend it creates notches in the metal towards the top at the bend (see pic below from SCS). I can only assume it is because of the bend radius, k factor, etc.

I am trying to figure out what the measurements need to be since the details that SCS provided from their bending calculator don't seem to be accurate for the material or OnShape(CAD) is not translating the measurements properly.

Here is a pic of the bracket in OnShape with the current measurementsupload_2024-12-18_18-32-14.png

Here is what SCS is saying to use on their calculator

    Thanks in advance

There is nothing for the brake to pinch on and support to make the bend as the remaining metal tapers to nothing. The result would be an incomplete bend in that area or a part shift in the brake. That notch is likely the footprint of the die in thickness plus a CH or two.

If you contact them or add special instruction to leave as is and send it (pun intended) they may still do it as you are accepting any risk of imperfection. These features are done so that can guarantee properly formed parts.

Those shallow angles are likely the problem. You need straighter lines at the point of the bed.

I too build a wedge camper.

Have you seen Ripcords awning mount? He has one for batwings too. What awning are you trying to mount?

Here is a modification on his to clear my hurricane hinge.
SCS made these for me, but I dont have a handy photo of the aluminium ones.

Not sure what you mean by "straighter lines at the point of the bed".

I have seen your build and it looks great! I've seen his, but I used SuperPacific's design since I worked there for a short while and stopped in the shop to check them out.

    I am mounting a IronMan 4x4 270

    4 run, 2 don't
Everyone answered already, but that was basically it.

You risk running into deformation since the flange has little to no support for part of it.
